Bio: Ken Kraintz

Hi, my name is Ken Kraintz and I am the originator of SingFree.net. I developed my project in order to bring top-quality choral arrangements, in a digital format, to middle school choir directors. Today’s middle school music students have extraordinary talent and potential that can be greatly enhanced with modern technology!

During my 33 years as a public school music teacher and arts administrator, I developed and observed many outstanding choral music programs. Each of them had these common characteristics: a strong, dedicated teacher, a broad spectrum of students and quality literature which challenged and motivated choir members.

In the last 15 years I have spent the majority of my time writing, arranging and  publishing vocal jazz while also serving as guest clinician/conductor at  music festivals and conferences throughout the US and Canada. Some of my works include Goodbye Love, You Learn to Live with the Blues and, Alone and Blue.

My emphasis was primarily high school and college ensembles however, I always looked forward to working with middle school groups! The honest effort and boundless energy displayed by these young people and their directors is the motivating factor for establishing SingFree.net.

I hope you enjoy this site and keep coming back. If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you!
